Continuing a recent meteorite theme, here's a tiny fragment of lunar basalt (3.5mm long) from meteorite NWA 4734 found in NW Africa, October 2006. It's a 150 image pmax stack taken using a 10x mitty. If anyone is interested, the background moon was 80 shots taken in daylight then combined into a "focus enhanced" result using autostakkert. Levels were adjusted to simulate a night shot.
And in a blatant flouting of the rules I have included an image that is clearly neither micro nor macro. It's a shot taken a couple of nights before the last supermoon through a 90mm telescope (1250mm fl). The single RAW shot was processed in photoshop to enhance the mineral colours. So sue me - it's context innit!
Edit: the observant will notice that I travelled to the southern hemisphere for one of the moon shots. Or I messed up, forgetting to flip the telescope image
