Ladybug exposed

Post by ConstantinCornel »

Hello everybody
Greetings from Romania. I've learned so much from this forum in the last 2 years so I think it's time to give back. I'll share some of my pics from time to time, and I'll be starting with on of my favorite from last year.

Nikon D5300 + Nikon 105mm Macro + Raynox DCR 250 + 1flash
Pano of 3 vertical stacks, 140 frames in total, 2:1 magnification.

That's quite spectacular! I'm guessing guess you didn't find it spread like that?

No... but this fly died like this and gived me the idea for the ladybug.

To make it stay like that, just after it died, I spread the wings in the position I want and "glue" them to some support for a few days to harden into position. So it takes a few days to prepare the subject :? You could take the pictures separately and photoshop the composition but I feel something is lost in the process.

"glue them", more like tape or with small paper pieces cut in the right shape, even string, anything really
