Zeiss eyepiece designations

Post by 75RR »

Anyone know what the designation KF stands for?

I will be having a look at it on Monday.

Image

This is what I have so far:

C : Compensating achromat
CPL : Compensating achromat and Planachromat
KPL : Kompensating Neofluar and Planapochromat
Br = Brille, stands for glasses - a drawing is usually used on the objective instead.
PL : Planar eypieces,
W-PL : Wide Planar eypieces,
E-PL: Extra Planar eypieces,
W : Wide FOV eyepieces
S-PL : photo eyepieces

Note: Just read something that might indicate it stands for: Kompensating Focusable ?

No actual reliable info, just a guess: it seems the same as CPL for the later finite Standards Made in Mexico, take a look to the images at this old post:

Do you actually own the eyepiece?

Hi Pau,
thanks for the link - they look the same to me.

Will be picking it up tomorrow. It is on an old GFL stand sold for parts very cheaply at auction locally,
nobody else bid - thought I might find the eyepieces and the field diaphragm housing useful.

Asked this seller on the german ebay what KF meant - awaiting answer
