I'm not having a good day today
I ordered a Nikon MRL00102 based on readings on this site and an adapter from Jinfinance. Obviously I ordered the wrong adapter as the objective slips straight in. Now checking the info I ordered a M26 and it should have been a M25. Before I order another adapter is the correct adapter M52 to M25 for a Nikon Objective?
Secondly I ordered the Nikon MRL00102 objective and what they supplied is MRP00102. I've no idea if one is interchangeable with the other.
Here is the comparison info between the two objectives.

Before I waste more time and money could one of you kind souls let me know if a: I should purchase the above adapter and B: do I keep or ask for a replacement objective?
Luckily I ordered the objective via email, so there is no confusion with regards the part number. As an aside the MRP00102 objective is made in China, not that I have an issue with that other than the others appear to be made in Japan.

Return the objective: the golden finished MRL00102 is a Plan achromat and well proven to be excellent for macro use while the black MRP00102 is a more entry level and inexpensive achromat (not flat field) and AFAIK not tested at least in the forum. Likely it also will work but you paid for a better objective.

Richard you aren't the first to get something other than what you ordered. Nikon seem to hide item numbers and some vendors seem to assume they can swap them around.
The 10x "BE" MRN70100 is known, same shorter WD and cheaper than the gold one. (rms mount). See the FAQ http://photomacrography.net/forum/viewt ... 080#168080

Chris, there is a mistake: He received a CFI Achromat MRP00102, not the CFI BE Plan achromat MRN70100.ChrisR wrote:The 10x "BE" MRN70100 is known, same shorter WD and cheaper than the gold one. (rms mount). See the FAQ http://photomacrography.net/forum/viewt ... 080#168080
