What Stacking Software for Mac

Post by pwiles1968 »

I used to use CombineZ5 on PC, I have mostly moved to Mac and was wondering if there is any good Free stacking software anyone could recommend I could play with , can not see anything obvious on line.

I Have Photoshop apparently you can stack with it but results are not as good as other specialist Software.

Last I checked, CombineZ5 and its successor product CombineZP would run on Mac under Wine. I found that to be an awkward configuration to install and work with, however. I expect that a workflow involving open-source enfuse and a corresponding alignment program could also be put together, but I have not explored that personally. Most of my experience on Mac is with Zerene Stacker (which I wrote and support). That works well, but it's not free.

Thanks Rik, I really don't want to be messing about with Wine or virtual machines on the Mac, I had a quick play with Zerene some great work there =D>.

I just need to decide how much I will use or if I just fire up my old PC when I get time to play with stacks.
