Hi folks,
Been a bit tied up recently so was pleased to get out yesterday (Salcey Forest, Northants) with the old Minolta A2. It had been raining heavily just before I arrived (surprise surprise) so not a lot of insect action. However I did manage to get in a few shots of this Helophilus sp. (hover fly) just before returning to the car park.

Beautiful Photos Bruce. I love the pattern on its` abdomen. He looks kind of Bow-legged also, I wonder if they serve a purpose . In the second picture, it looks like he is giving you the raspberry (sticking his tongue out and making a funny sound ) What is the word for that in the UK?
