You are very welcome Carmen. Obviously it is a stack.
Technical details: Canon 5D mark II, canon mp-e 65mm, nissin flash with homemade diffuser, f 5.6, exposure time 1/200, tripod.

To be honest, the extended depth of focus is so convincing that it did not appear so obvious to me. At first sight, I thought probably a stacked photo, which is challenging with a live specimen in the field, or less probably a very large spider.

¿did the spider move, necesitating a re-start of the focus stack?

the depth of field was very shallow..and of course the spider moved her legs couple of times :lol:

Yes, I can imagine many re-starts!

The fact that the resulting focus stacked photo was not so obviously focus stacked (at least to me) can perhaps be considered indicative of successful focus stacking. :D The impressions of others in this regard would be interesting.
