An arresting image with your trademark beautiful and atmospheric lighting. This surely has to be tracheae tubes in insect skin, maybe of a caterpillar?

Yes, Cactusdave is right, these are tracheae tubes. But they originate not from any insect skin but from gills of dragon's larval stage.

Thank you for clarifying by PM that this larva was what English calls a "damselfly" (Odonata:Zygoptera).
