This fellow Igor Siwanowicz takes great photos! He's very much into "formal portrait" style.

The caterpillar grows up into a large silkmoth that's actually a bit less flashy than most. (Go figure!)

Google image search on Eupackardia calleta finds lots of pictures.

Looks as though the photographer could have used a backdrop behind some of those subjects and others seem to impart that there is more there or to them, than what actually meets the eye. Altogether though some really great images and much, much better than what I can or could do at present but I suspect some digital software hocus pocus in there somewhere. :-k

I've seen this gallery before. Most of the photos looks like were taken inside studio and/or terrarium. :D
