Mosquito Larva - brightfield vs polarized light

Inspired by Mr. Krebs' superb glassworm image, I gave the old crossed polarizers a go on my scope. Wow!

The artistics and technical quality on this is pretty poor, but it's a striking difference in the sort of structures that are visible under different lighting conditions:
