It's the London of Mr. Pepys! Enthralling for me, as it provides a stage--at long last--on which to cast the plague, the great fire, the coronation, the romantic dalliances, the building of the navy, the graft, the making of a personal fortune, and other details large and small that Pepys recorded daily from 1660-1669. What a treat! (Even given a few chronological disjunctions.)
