Congratulations to Wim, this image is a real stunner and a well deserved first prize. It makes me proud that so many members of this community are among the winners: 18 is not a bad quota at all!!!
Best regards,
Ecki (Eckhard)

Wim is indeed a worthy winner with a truly outstanding image so congratulations to him and our other top 100 successes. However I do find the judges choices particularly random this year. I find the very high placing of the second placed image rather odd considering the standard of lower placed images and I keep looking at image 15 and wondering how it made the top 100 at all, but that's probably why I'd be useless as a judge

For some of these, I imagine the placement depends on technical aspects more than image esthetics. It would be great if more of the submission details were made available.Cactusdave wrote:I find the very high placing of the second placed image rather odd considering the standard of lower placed images and I keep looking at image 15 and wondering how it made the top 100 at all, but that's probably why I'd be useless as a judge
