steps for that rail?

Post by crayfish74 »

Hi,

I bought this equipament that comes with two turn meters. So how I can know what will be the minimun step (0,05 mm? 0,02 mm?) or how I can measure the displacement of this?

PD: horizontal scrolling is very smooth and no displacement

One way would be to use something that is a known thickness and see how many turns it takes to move the stage that far.

Zerene Stacker will give you an even better view of how well the stage moves at small increments. Just do a focus stack while moving the stage horizontally in front of the camera: http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/v ... highlight=

best is to do 100 turns then measure the displacement en then divide by 100
