Not to sure of the exact name but I do believe that this is Surirella. A very three dimensional diatom, just the thing for those of you who have the patience to "stack" images. Two different shots are shown here in this composite, each at a different focal point. What a critter :roll:

This diatom is a little different for sure Ken, very robust. Very nice photos ken.

Quite robust indeed there Doug. Wonder if you could bar b que those large ribs :lol: Actually it reminds me of an algae incrusted animal carcass. Thanks Doug :D
