JML to RMS Adapter

Post by Noah212 »

I tried searching through the JML mounting techniques thread but I couldn't seem to find a solution for adapting the JML to an RMS thread. I'm hoping to be able to mount the JML lens directly to my microscope turret.

I saw enircosavazzi's custom adapter (pictured below) but in this case, the inner threading constricts the lens' field of view and yields a vignetted image at low magnifications, according to him.

The rear element of the JML 21mm is approximately .680 inches in diameter and the ID of the housing is .890 inches. You may be able to cut the housing off directly behind the rear element, then add the adaptor. It may be easier to modify the turret.
