I found this video Astronomy Photo of the Day to be remarkable. It shows not only exceptional time-lapse night photography of the stars and observatory equipment, but also the technique and equipment used by the photographer. (I had to click on the video a couple of times to activate it.)

"...astrovideographer Daniel López not only treats us to several inspiring time lapse videos of the night sky, but shows us how he used sliders and motorized cranes to move the imaging cameras themselves, creating a thrilling three-dimensional sense of depth. The video sequences were taken from Tenerife on the Canary Islands of Spain..."

Is there a credible way to use analogous sliders and cranes for macro work, for stacks and/or videos? _________________ -Phil
