Very nice!

I like the lighting. Edges of the highlights are soft enough to avoid most of artificial pupil effect in the ommatidia. Can you explain or refresh my memory about your lighting setup for this?

OMG these are awesome! Even with 100% crop, the sharpness is really impressive.
Did you use JML 21mm with bellows + Stackshot or something similar ?

Yousef, I have seen your results on 500px and must say: I'm utterly impressed.
What did you use for equipment, optics and lighting?

Rik
Thank you for the comment Rik. As for the lighting setup, i used the Canon MT24ex twin flash as the source for lighting & few slides of white papers to diffuse the lights.

Jack
I applied a tiny touch of sharpness in the Photoshop ;)
I didn't use the JML21 here since this little cutey needs something with higher magnification to show all these details. For the 1st shot, I used the Mitutoyo M Plan 10X. As for the 2nd work.. I used Nikon BD 20X.

Cactusdave
Thank you Dave

I wouldn't be able to reach this level without your support all this time.
Thanks again :)

Thank you so much for the compliment. As for my equipments, i'm using:
- Bodies: Canon 60D/Nikon D7000
- Optics: Mitutoyo 10X M Plan & Nikon 20X WD
- Lighting: Canon MT24ex

Hope I answered your question :)

Thanks for your responce! :)

It seems that Mitutoyo M plan 10x is an infinite objective. Did you use any tube len ? Any bellows used ?

Sorry that my questions may sound naive. I am now reading many articles and just about to enter this field.

Yousef,

These are unusually beautiful photographs!

I especially enjoy the soft yet revealing lighting. I find that there is a hard-to-describe but very pleasant feel to the lighting that I don't recall seeing in other studio photos. It's interesting too that you've been able to use the MT-24 to accomplish this.

Thanks for sharing them with this community.

not much to add to what the others have said, but just wanted to say too that these shots are amazing. Gorgeous detail on those eyes, perfect lighting and colours!

usual flawless standard, compound eyes look great - I prefer the crop though for composition reasons

Thank you everyone for your encouraging and kind comments. Kindly accept my apology for my late reply as i just came back yesterday from my vacation.

Jack
Yes, it's an infinite objective. I used the Morfanon + Nikon Bellows PB-6 with this objective.
Kindly feel free to drop any more questions you have :)

DQE
Well, I'm about to build my new setup & hopefully i will be able to switch to use LEDs instead of the flashes once compared the outcomes of both options. Thank you for your compliment :)
