Ribbit!

Post by chesterdawg »

Came in the other night and noticed that the back porch light was not on.
I flipped in on and saw this little green visitor stuck on the back door.

I didn't think that I'd have time (turns out I had plenty of time, he was quite the patient model) to get the R1C1 setup so I quickly attached my macro lens and an SB900.

Its good to know that a regular speedlight works for macro. It would be even better if used with one of those light bender thingies but I sure like working with the R1C1:

Did you know that the Tree Frog is the official amphibian for the state of Georgia?
...........neither did I!

Shot with my Nikon D90 and Nikon 85mm DX Micro (Nikon speak for macro?). A nice lightweight, made-for-DX lens and quite a bit cheaper than its bigger FX brother. Yeah its not f2.8 but you shoot macro at f11 anyway.

Nice photo.

Frogs are surely among the cutest and more readily photogenic of the amphibians.

Gotta agree with that!
Thanks for the compliment.

I need to get out and do some more macro photography.

Beautiful model :D Although the focus is stuck in his eyes the depth of field is too short, and I think it is a little "boxed" and lack light in the eyes .

Regards !
