This specimen was about 5 mm but they can become larger.
I just read that the larva only uses hooks and the adult the suckers but also has hooks and barbs. It is a nasty passenger.
This close-up is a crop from a composite I made with a 10X objective. This way I could make a very large and detailed image. I am working on an exhibition for children and I think I am going to print it large. I am also working on a 'lousy wallpaper' with flees and lice that is going to be used as wall decoration.
