infinity optics on a Labophot-2?!?

Looks a bit like Frankenstein: A Labophot-2 (which was never intended for metallurgical-type setups) with CFI BD Plan objectives.

Is this setup supposed to work?

Is it possible to replace the "finite" optical train with infinity-type accessories on a finite-type microscope and achieve proper results? I'm guessing that you cannot "mix-and-match" finite and infinite, but what about a full replacement?

It is ok, the trinocular head is for infinity objectives (the trinocular head has the tube lens build-in).
