I have a friend who is a retired entomologist and he now keeps frogs as well as Praying Mantids. He feeds his 'pets' with insects. He drives his car around the block while his passenger holds a net out of the window. I was his passenger the other day and it was early winter and insects are scarce. I could not believe the number and variety of insects we caught. You may all be aware of this method of collecting insects but it was new to me. For what its worth!
