Very beautiful textures on this guy Ken. The surface looks very organic and alien.

Fascinating photo Ken! However, when I first saw it I really struggled to relate what I was seeing to my mental image of what a millipede should look like. That image was almost entirely based on the millipedes I had eagerly collected from under stones as a kid (age 10 to 14) in Malta. So off to Google to see if I could find something that looked more like your photo. Needless to say I found millipedes of every possible shape, size and colour ...and eventually a couple of possible candidates as near relatives to your 'pede. Am I even close? :-k

The millipedes in Malta looked more like the ones at the bottom of the page in the last link.

Bruce...The first pic when I clicked on your gallery looks a lot like it and the second pic on the Mo link looks like it too. So you did good!

Thanks Bruce :D

Thanks Doug, it does look sort of like Klingon skin doesn't it?

Never looked at one this closely before... more interesting structure than I would have expected. Nice shots Ken.

Thanks Charlie. :D There were a lot of interesting features to this little creature but unfortunately my patience gave out because it would not stay still very long in any position that I placed it for a photograph. So I took it back outside and let it go. :|
