WOW!!!!

These are just amazing................. jumping spiders are rapidly becoming favourites of mine because they look menacing and friendly at the same time..............a bit like cats I guess??

It is those wonderful eyes...........are these their natural colours by the way?

Hi sonyalpha
thank you. Yes it's natural eye color the spiders
But every picture, of course, add or withdraw saturation as needed.

Dušan, these are beautiful!

Some questions:

1. Were these spiders alive?

2. Is each picture from one exposure? Or are they "focus stacked" using for example CombineZP, Helicon Focus, or Zerene Stacker?

How do you shoot many pictures but the spider does not move?

Rik: When the spider is supercooled in the refrigerator so it does not hurt him! and has a slower reaction ... if you put him in the freezer but to kill him!
Sometimes it helps spider soaking in a little water but only slightly.
Spider occasionally stops for a minute and then take pictures of some photos and pass them.
Of course these few images created over 2 years so so much success, and unfortunately I can not say no proven advice that works ... many attempts to take pictures of the spider ended in failure :(

Thank you for the information. I have not worked with cold spiders. It is good to know this technique.

Pictures of insects that have been cooled in refrigerator or slowed with chemicals should go in the Technical and Studio forum.

Nature Photography is only for "undisturbed subjects in their natural environment".

So, a spider photographed outside where you found him would go in Nature, but the same spider photographed inside after being cooled would go in Technical and Studio.

I will move this one for you.

Were the insects in your other pictures cooled also?

The portraits are perfectly focused and detailed, and got my attention the good choice of background, is that natural backgrounds or something behind the subject ?
