Temple Viper

I dare you to walk under that tree!

I feel like the area below and behind the snake "gives away" that this is a captive subject in a controlled setting. Or am I just reading too much into it, since I know what is there?

I think you're very familiar with this sort of "controlled setting", so you know what to look for. Your picture is not clearcut to me even after you ask about it. Stark contrast against this site that I found in searching for why the critters are called "temple" vipers.

I didn't know these things were in the Philippines! Never saw one while I was there but then again I am glad that I didn't. The jungles there are full of enough poisonous critters as it is. :smt028

Ken, I`m sure you never went into a temple when you were there either  Very nice shot Mike. I see nothing that makes it look "Captive" IMO. It does look a little overweight compared to Riks`link  It must be well taken care of at that zoo!!

Looks like natural habitat to me. And one very pretty snake.
