Rodagon 28 reverse mounting suggestion?

Post by liuto »

I have recently purchased a Rodagon 4/28mm lens. It has no filter thread so reverse mounting is not easily possible. Do you have any suggestion of how to achive this?
Thanks

Hermann,

Is your lense a Rodagon Macro or a Rodagon enlarger lense?

Do you have a picture of the 4/28mm?

Thanks for the quick response.

It's an enlarging lens:

It has an m39 thread on the rear side but due to the recessed front element the working distance is minimal hence the wish to reverse the lens...

No threads makes it much harder to reverse - glue it to a ring, use rubber bands to hold it to a ring.

The short focal length enlarging lenses tend to work quite a bit better reversed than normally mounted - much more dramatically so than longer focal length ones.

I have a couple of Schneider 28's. Both are extremely good lenses and perform very nearly as well as short focal length bellows lenses. One has 40.5 mm threads and one has 30.5 mm threads. Step-up rings are available for both for reversal.
