To the Moderators.

Why no facility on this site to report spam? We had a bit of that on PlanetNikon, such as links to porno sites and advertising attempts for share pushing amoungst other things. Even though members are screened on sites the odd spammer always gets through.

On PlanetNikon there is a little box under the posts you can click on that brings these spamming attempts to the attention of the Moderators, who can then delete the post. I noted a suspicious post here earlier today but no facilities to alert you:-

Thanks for the heads up Dave, I noted it the minute I logged in this evening. Taken care of, for now anyway. Thanks

Ken

Suggest you have a section on the "Welcome to our new home!" at the start of the Forum "Report Unwanted Posts" for members to report anything a bit dubious and immediately bring these to the attention of any Moderator when they log on.

I gather PlanetNikon is stopping about 6-7 of these sort of posts daily from people trying to get on that site using temporary e-mail address sites, but no matter how well you check new members some always get through.

Thanks Dave :D , seems like a good idea, however, Tom will have to be the one to make the changes to our board since he is the editor. :)

Once or twice when I've had something important about these sorts of forums to report, I've just sent a PM to the owners/administrators of the site and that's worked for me.

Since PMs usually trigger email notifications, this will work only if the admin folks at least check there emails, even when they aren't going to the site while on the internet.
