Componon 4,0/35mm thread size ?

Post by AndrewC »

A Schneider-Kreuznach Componon 4,0/35mm fell into my hands. It looks like it might have a 30mm filter thread ... anyone know for sure what it might be ?

Edit: looks like it is one of these:

.. in a BK 00 barrel. Trouble is the Schneider drawing in the link is for BK 15 barrel.

Andrew,

The 28/4 and 35/4 I have are 30.5mm threaded. Stepping rings for 30.5 to 52mm are readily available. Very good optically.

In one case I purchased a cheap 30.5mm "UV" filter and removed the glass. Used that as a spacer between the lens and the stepping ring.

My Schneider 28/4 and 40/2 both fit 30.5mm. The spacer is a good idea, if you screw the adaptor hard into the filter thread you can't adjust the diaphragm :)
