Sorry, I don't recognize this subject.

I do recognize a stacking artifact in the image, though -- the background is noisy. Probably portions of the flower are noisy also, but it's harder to see there.

All of the current pyramid methods accumulate noise in regions with no fine detail.

Subjects like this one often benefit from retouching, to replace the background with pixels from either an original input frame or a depth-mapped composite.

In this particular case, it would be especially easy to work with the input frame that has the edge of the flower in focus. That way there wouldn't be any halos to deal with.

Colour is correct for a buttercup, but note how small this flower is.
Hint: this flower is from a Monocotyledon plant (flower parts in multiples of 3); buittercups are Dicotyledons (flowers in multiples of 4 or 5)

I was looking earlier at the 3-merous aspect. What we can see in this photo is very symmetric, but I wonder, is this thing going to turn into an orchid?

No, not an Orchid.

I guess this was too difficult, even for the botanists.
It is one of several hundred flowers on our indoor palm tree.
In this photo:

each yellow ball is one flower.

Ah, very nice. And this certainly explains why I had no idea -- I have spent hardly any time around palm trees, and when I did, I was distracted. :D
