Final moments of binary fission of Paramecium bursaria. The cells are connected just by a thin cytoplasmic bridge as shown in the inset in the first picture.

Thanks! I remember your images of a similar scene from over four years ago (time flows...)

Yes, I think I exaggerated contrast curve while processing these images. This one looks more natural:

Wonderful Piotr, a bit like Rodin's 'the kiss'.

I also see some dust on the sensor. It is a real nuisance that with micrographs the dust is realy 'projected' on the sensor. I have never found a way to create a dustmap automatically so I made one myself by creating a file with a saved selection of all the dots. Than I made a photoshop action that imported that selection and used it to remove the dust (with median, than adding a bit of noise and a little fading and blurring)

But if someone else has a better solution?
