Ruffed Grouse - feather

Post by NikonUser »

From a bird that flew into a window and was killed
105AF Micro Nikkor, f11, single frame.

Note: I thought I had seen black cloth and black paper. But then I bought a sheet of "Hi-tack Flocked Light Trap" cloth from ProStar, Ohio. This is the material that the Black Holes in space are made of.
Thanks to Charles Krebs for mentioning this material in an earlier post.

Very nice!

I had overlooked that material. I had a little trouble finding it -- maybe there's a typo in the name?

But anyway, I think I finally found the right thing. Is this it?

Sorry Rik, the company is ProtoStar and your URL is correct.

Charles mentioned it
HERE
I purchased it to line my extension tubes and any possible internal reflective surfaces as Charles recommended.

I am also using it to make small lens shades and to line larger ones. This shade, below, is a couple of styrofoam cups. It fits snugly over the front on my MF105mm Micro, the edge at the front of the lens abuts against the inside edge of the black cloth.
