Bismuth hopper crystals

Post by Jbailey »

These crystals were produced commercially in Germany from the melt. This is in contrast to my previous post of Sylvite hopper crystals that I grew from a water solution.

The colors are interference from very thin surface films.

Lighting is bounced from a large white card.
