The wheel of an old grist mill, now idle as the spring that feeds the slough is ephemeral and will not return till late winter, maybe a little earlier, who knows.

I like running across old barns like this. This one nestled away in a mountain hollow adjacent to Roan Mountain.

Mixed forest and mountain pasture ablaze with autumn color.

Some nice impressions of rural Tennessee there, Ken!

Especially, when looking at that picturesque old barn methinks I can hear some distant banjo playing Bluegrass.
Accidentally, I found a song performed by some of your fellow countrymen that I think goes nicely with that barn. It´s informative, I for instance I have learned that bbq ain´t neither a verb nor a grill, and that Florida ain´t no Southern State Shocked
But be warned, as far as I know you in this respect, the song might quicken your appetite. Do you like it vinegar based? Very Happy

Ken... sure do love spring and fall in your part of the country!

Betty... be sure to get to Louisiana and have some crawfish... fantastic!

(although personally, I'm not too crazy about the sucking on the head part )

Yeah ya'all this is some purtty country ain't it Very Happy Got to admit those two "YouTube" links are petty much how the south is in some respects. I like mine hot and spicy, crawdads too! Course I ain't had no crawdads in a long time, not since I left Arkansas anyway.

By the way Betty, in the summer time you can hardly find a place to stand down by that old barn. There is a big old farm house there, which you cannot see, and during the summer you can get homemade ice cream, cakes, cookies, and maybe (if you know your way around), a little someth'in to sip on if no ones look'n! Wink

Thanks ya'all Very Happy

Hi Charlie, I too like seafood very much. Will try to keep your recommendation in mind and have some Luisiana crawfish, when I come over, but hope to show some better table manners than the funny chap in the footage you linked. Wink
