Everything has to eat and I felt sorry to see the annelid in torment, writhing in agony, however I allowed nature to take its course. I watched the scenario for quite sometime before walking away, contemplating the thought of that at one time eons ago, human beings may have suffered the same at the jaws of large and small carnivorous predators. :|

There is hope. I would have to say "I can`t believe he will eat the whole thing" That looks like some kind of beetle larva, maybe a tiger beetle. They live in borrows and pounce on things that pass by.

That's good to know, I can imagine sitting on one. You know that thing looks almost like a caddis fly larvae of some sort but this was taken way to far from water, about several hundered feet above the nearest river to be exact, which was several hundered feet below me and just to the left, straight down at the time. :roll:
