You really managed to find some interesting details on both of them, that tail on the leafhopper is very odd indeed. I wonder what it is for, nothing like a peacock if it is still a nymph. And the nose on the moth is great, it is very nice to see it so close as to be able to make out how it terminates with those flat fronts. great stuff

The tail on that hopper is a curiosity, I could not even begin to speculate as to what it is used for or what its original purpose might have been.

These moths are not unusual around here but hard to spot sometimes. I too found that head to be interesting. First time that I have gotten a shot of one of these, where the head turned out clearly defined.
