what a strange series, it appears in the first image that the robber is hanging on by 1 legg,, wow nice captures

A wonderful photo Nikola. The robberfly reminds me of Batman all dressed up in black. I guess hanging by one foot while having lunch is getting to be a more common habit. Like my picture here.....

You know I got a 250D close-up lens and it really did not perform as well as I hoped it would. Your's seems to work just fine, wonder why? Maybe I am holding my mouth wrong. That is what my grand daddy used to say when things didn't pan out right. :D

I've seen Robber flies do this in the past - I've also seen social wasps hang on like this with prey but usually the other way up!

Nice shots btw, especially considering the lighting situation!

I find that hanging on by one leg is very usual breakfast / lunch behavior for robberflies.
Ken, macro with close-up lenses works in only very limited close distance range. :wink:
