This is one ugly and very small bug but then again, it wasn't taking any pictures of me either.

Sort of like some moths that look a lot like bird droppings when they are not moving. I spent a little time in SE Asia or there abouts, mostly in the Philippine Islands and they have some bugs there for sure! I remember walking along a revetment and kicking what appeared to be a stick, until all at once these long legs came out, it stood up, and went to chattering. I moved along and at a brisk pace.When they are not moving, and you have never seen them before, they might be easily mistaken for some caterpilar excrement.
