Beautiful Graham!

The light, setting, and DOF characteristics of the second one especially appeal to me. Sort of surprised to see that nice, natural DOF "fall-off" ( did I really say what I just said :wink: ) from a small format sensor like the G9. Could you check out the EXIF data and you give us an idea of the aperture used for that shot?

EXIF data in the posted file says 1/60 sec at f/4. Sensor size on a G9 is 7.6 x 5.7 mm, so equivalent to around f/11-f/16 on a DSLR.

That data gets "stripped" out when I save my pictures for the web (and I've found it missing on many other image postings as well), so I sometimes don't even think to check if it is still there!

These are superb! The color is vivid and the subject sharp. I really like the pose in the second image though. It looks so dramatic.

The second shot has a haltere showing about as well as it can be for the magnification.
