Tulip with my new camera

Post by salden »

New camera for me, but I purchased this used from KEH and it arrived today. It is the Canon 1Ds. This is a grab image of one of my tulips. I wanted to see how the camera did with my macro lens (Canon 100mm). Comments?

Image

This is full frame with a little sharpening applied only.

Yes Rik, the sun was going down fast when I got home, so I had to put the camera together (battery, etc.) and get outside. The tulip was handy. I think the 1Ds has the same color capture as the D60.

Looks like it does really super there Sue, color saturation is great I think. Must be nice to shoot full frame. I was at one time considering the 5D but with the economy being as it is, I will probably have to win the lotto to get it.

Yeah, thats pretty darn good Sue  The colours are gorgeous with the red and yellow. The sensor size will knock you out with the res this thing can take. A huge congrats on the new baby. Its a beauty.

All the best Sue and yep, that colouring is a knockout.

Danny.

I agree, really incredible colors and excellent sharpness. The lighting is wonderful.

Stunning colours!

That's the original 1ds (mk1) I presume?

Is that converted from a RAW or an out of camera JPEG?

Yep, the original 1ds. This is converted from RAW. I only do raw, then convert to .tiff and save in .jpg.

Nice! :D
You've conviced me... but didn't you have some kind of polarizer filter on? :-k
Not to be nitpicker, I saw one very tiny black spot under the flower base. (About 1/5 lenght of distance to the frame.) At first I thought it was dust particle on my screen. O:)

No filter, but a dust speck on my lens. I keep a cap on my lenses, but dust still finds a way.
