Now that is one stunning butterfly Michael. I love the background and Butterfly colors...what a perfect match and the butterfly justs pops out and glows. Will you look at those eyes!!!

Quite a slender looking creature, the height of the wings suggest a very wide span. Great details on this Michael, the background is very complementary. :D

Superb. The background colours are perfectly complimentary.

It seems to be one of those species in which the front pair of legs is rudimentary. I have never seem an explanation of why that is, possibly because I never looked.

Have your elbows recovered?

Elbows are OK, the knees, however,.....

I kept finding that the right knee of my jeans would wear through when they were otherwise in fairly good condition. Having purchased a pair of gardener's kneepads, and carrying one with my camera kit, my jeans last longer. As a bonus, my right l knee does not suffer from damp or sharp stones! :D

Excellent shot, superb composition, colour etc. Personally I'd prefer if if the beast were sitting on a flower but you have to work with what you've got and you did a great job, one of the nicest butterfly shots I've seen!

Incidentally I don't care about kneeling on rocks, or in mud, it's kneeling on tiny stinging nettles I really hate!! ;)
