Lovely stuff, Bill -- your time away has been well spent! :D

How big are these things, anyway?

I have seen the purple Flourite before in clumps & clusters, but your specimen with one large crystal (plus a small one) in a great looking matrix (what is that?) is stunningly beautiful and gold always makes my jaw drop. Beautiful photos Bill.

The Gold nugget is about 1/2 in.,the copper is about 3 in., the flourite, 3/4 in.

I'm not sure about the matrix on the flourite,I thought it was interesting with the "sunken" look with this sample.

Fascinating! Stacked so everything is sharp, I would never have guessed that the copper is 6 times bigger than the gold.

Bill,

Beautiful specimens and photos. I always appreciate mineral photos.

The matrix on the fluorite specimen appears to be sphalerite.

I will be leaving next Saturday for the Tucson Mineral Show. It will be my first trip there. In Friday, 15 February I will be giving a presentation at the micromount symposium.

Simply an amazing look !!!. Normally go for insects, etc, but these are just outstanding. Excellent DOF and the colours rock (pun I guess  ).

All the best and I'm in awe of these. Superb work and shots Bill.

Danny.
Worry about the image that comes out of the box, rather than the box itself.
