I stumbled upon a new pond that is absolutely swarming with critters. This poor guy was poisoned with copper to get it to hold still for a photo session. Anyone has any idea what it is?

Is this 40x? It looks just like one of the images I recently got. You can see it the post 'Halteria (I think)'. At 40x, I couldnt' see the equatorial cirri, but as another image I posted there shows, I could see them at 20x with the deeper DoF.

Its a 63x/1.4 lens and the bug was firmly squished against the coverslip (you can see the membrane blebbing in the top side). I can't recall if I saw equatorial cirri but it does look like Halteria to a large extent. Thanks for pointing it out!
