Birefringent painkiller crystal
Crystal grown from a mixture of aspirin and paracetamol under polarized and oblique lighting.

Thanks for the nice comment dragonblade. The internal camera of the Zeiss Photomicroscope was designed for the 35 mm format which is what I used for this shot and the one I've attached in this post. The object here is a melt preparation of elemental sulfur mixed with testosterone propionate. The dark and red color comes from the sulfur as it starts to decompose at high temperature.
