Stiching Stacked Macro images

Post by Joyful »

Condiments of the seasoning to you all.

I have just seen Levon Biss video about stitching stacked macro images.

Please will SKS tell me what software etc I will need to try this.

I have Zerene, and Photoshop CS6 extended - not the cloud version. Being a pensioner, my budget is limited, as well as the 14:1 exchange rate Dollar to Rands - not in my favour !

I use Zerene for stacking and PS CS6 for simple stitching and post image processing. CS6 has been problematic for complex stitches and for these cases I use PTgui which works well and is reasonable (~$120 US).

Edit: Should mention I use a Mac not a PC.

Best,

Some have used Microsoft ICE in their Windows-based computers with quite good results. Zero cost, worth a try maybe.

Stitching

I live by Microsoft ICE. When it does fail, I give Photomerge in Photoshop a try.

Until now, i've been stiching with Photoshop CC. But only few days ago i've downloaded ICE, and i just have to say WOW.

When PS fails miserably after hours of work, ICE does splendid job in few minutes. I trongly encourage anyone interested with stiching to give a shot to this free program.
