A friend recently contributed a rotting twig he had found that was populated with small shelf or bracket fungus; I didn't think it would make an interesting image, but gave it a go, only to be bemused to find that the larger fungus was host to a smaller example, perhaps an aspergillus or a penicillium. This is probably at least fairly common, but I'd not seen it before.
