Thanks a lot for your replies!

This is a straight PMax run on all frames at once out of Zerene Stacker. I did a bit of sharpening, dust busting and color corrections in Photoshop.
And the BG of the original was "a bit" different Wink - here's the result directly outta Zerene:

Best regards,
Michael

Smashing images! Coincidentally, I did a crane fly yesterday - but I don't think I'll bother posting it now Smile

Ohhh that would be a pity if you keep it to yourself - you're a such master of light and composition!
It was actually your beautifully lit crane fly with the Minolta DImage 5400, that made me remember I had one in the fridge myself.

Extreme frontal stereo. Stack is not retouched, lots of transparencies and dirt, but cool effect nevertheless, me thinks.

Michael

The stereos are very nice -- thanks for those!

I would also be interested in seeing a 100% crop of the texture of the eye. Obviously desiccation has had a big effect, and I'm curious to see it closer.

Here ya go:

100% with mitty 10x @ ~7.5x

100% with Mitty 7.5x @~6x

with a Mitty 50x, scaled down, how much I don't remember

Best regards,
Michael

The closeups of the eyes are excellent!

It's interesting how in the last image, Mitty 50X, all the fine hairs in horizontal orientation look doubled. I assume that's because of two lights, each reflecting off a different side of each hair.
