Once the 100X is mounted and the oil is out, might as well look around for really little things to take pictures of. As far as Phacus specimens go this one was relatively flat (I've yet to get anything usable of the real "corkscrew" shaped ones!) and it worked out.

Olympus 100X S Plan Apo. NFK 1.67X eyepiece. Canon 350D. Oblique brightfield.

I find these things really neat to come across in low land water collections here. In the high mountain wetlands they are most abundant, which leads me to question the pH of the water that they are found in around here. I need to acquire a pH tester to further monitor my samples. Great image as usual Charlie. :D
