Has anybody written the "Bible" of macro? You know a book that pretty much covers it, that is fairly current, and could serve as a go to reference to the burgeoning macro photographer. Any recommendations? Thanks.

Not really. Macro means different things to different people - there's the stacking crowd, the butterfly crowd, the insect crowd, the microscopy crowd, each of these are different disciplines and no one site covers everything in a biblical manner.

That said there are good sites out there that cover each of these aspects on their own; for stacking and microscopy you're here which is the best there is, but also look at Michael Erlewine's books http://spiritgrooves.net/e-books.aspx#Photography and my site http://extreme-macro.co.uk/, for insect stuff look at http://nocroppingzone.blogspot.com/ and http://orionmystery.blogspot.com/ for general I like https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/s-102-1.html and for microscopy http://www.quekett.org/ and http://www.microbehunter.com/microscopy-forum/ - there are also some good facebook groups ie https://www.facebook.com/groups/ExtremeMacro/ and https://www.facebook.com/groups/196982043770758/

But bottom line, no one bible
