Paramecium caudatum, fed with yeast cells,
the cells are stained with Kongo-Red.
Kongo-Red is a pH-indicator, from pH 3,0 to pH 5,2 blue, bigger than 5,2 red.
First an overlock with the 20 lense, some relaxed ones and at least some a little bit pressed ones to show the vacuoles with the cells with the 40 lense.

Nice photos
Very nice shots Anne - I will have to try feeding paramecium some colourful food in the future.
Thank you all for the comments!
This was real fun to fed the Paramecium and to see how fast (after seconds) the first cells are inside of them. I have done some brightfield images too, will show them soon.
It works also very well with other ciliats and amöbeas and stentors.
I tried now to stain the cells with Eosin, and it works good too.
