My best studio stackes so far

Post by davidguitar »

Hello. I recently got into extreme macro studio stackes and have only been doing it for a couple of months.I started out with a cheap rail from eBay. It was pretty good but i upgraded just recently to a wemacro rail and that thing really makes stacking a whole lot easier :D
Heres a couple of shots from insects in Sweden.
Gear used: Nikon d7200, Sigma 105, Raynox dcr 250 (or) raynox msn 202, wemacro rail, 2 nikon flash with plastic cup diffuser.

first one shot with wemacro, about 80 exposures

What Mike said! Nice lighting too. Smashing set.

The bar is relentlessly rising in the extreme macro world IMO. I think there's been a noticeable uptick in the pace of improvement over the past year or so too. Relative newcomers are churning out great pics (like these) that would have been the sole preserve of "crusty old veterans" only a few years ago. Not that I'm saying anyone here is crusty or old, you understand :)

It's all good tho! Keeps folk striving to better their last image and maintains "freshness" in the genre.

PS. The bricks should be *on* the wasp, not behind it. Hateful gits they are!

David,

If you picked up the guitar that easy, I suspect that Clapton, Gilmour and Knopfler are paying attention :D

Ecellent!
I like your sense for composition and colors - and for interesting details.

Best,
I actually play guitar and work as a musician and guitar teacher

Thanks everyone. Actually im been doing lots of landscape photography but i got a little bit burned out with landscapes so i got into extreme macro for awhile instead :D

The Raynox are great and i Always had great results using them. And they are so easy to use and im all about keeping things as simple (gear wise) as possible.

Excellent color and detail.

I well remember that green fly color from my childhood in Chicago.
