Ingredients: Two Jansjös, a diffusor, LMPlanFL 100x and a "healthy" Kittonia elaborata.

Lovely!

I would like think that I understand the 3D structure of this, but I'll bet I have some details wrong. Any chance of stereo?

Outrageously good!

I was pleased to see that I had the geometry mostly correct. The stalks are longer than I had guessed, and I was confused about the smooth lip around the edge. Many thanks for the stereo -- immediately clear.

Wow!, excellent pictures.
The stereos do help a lot and are spectacular but I still haven't clear the morphology of the shell: is it a single valve with two fine texture-less borders?

I'd say so, yes.

And here's another link to a French forum, if you scroll down you'll see a picture that shows, that the two stalks connect the two halfs. My first guess would have been the other way round :).

Thanks Michael, yes I got it OK, at the SEM image it is evident, although I like more its glassy nature at your optical image.
